Battalion officer shortlisted for prestigious award

Captain Darren Hughes has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Youth Worker of the Year Award.

The award which is hosted by Youthlink Scotland is designed to recognise significant achievement made by individuals in youth work. The award itself is divided into ten categories and Captain Hughes has been nominated for the Uniformed Organisations category.

Captain Hughes said:

I am overwhelmed that I have been thought of highly enough to have been nominated for this award in the first place. Finding out recently that I have been shortlisted for the final came as a real surprise and I am now very much looking forward to attending the presentation evening to compete against the other finalists.

Captain Hughes will find out how he has done at the presentation dinner to be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Thursday 12 March.
