Anniversary of the Battle of Loos – Commemorative tour

ACFA Scotland is organising a commemorative Battlefield Tour on the anniversary of the Battle of Loos.

The Battle of Loos was the largest British offensive mounted in 1915 on the Western Front and involved forty-two battalions drawn from across Scotland. The Army Cadet Force Association Scotland is organising a tour to the area where the battle was fought and there is the opportunity for four Senior Cadets from the Battalion to attend.

The dates of the tour are Monday 8 Jun until Friday 12 June 2015 and travel will be by coach and overnight ferry from Hull; accommodation will be in the Messines Youth Hostel and all meals will be provided.

The cost of the tour to selected cadets is £50.  ACFA Scotland will cover the rest of the cost.

There are places for 1 Adult from the Battalion and 1 Senior Cadet from each company. Cadets must be aged over 16 and under 18 on the date prior to departure (7 June 2015) and hold at least the rank of Sergeant.

Names to be given to Company Commanders in time to reach the Deputy Commandant at Bn HQ by 1 March 2015.
