Battalion team meets tough opposition at UK championship

The senior boys team representing the Battalion travelled to the Frenchfields Sports Complex at Penrith  this weekend for the ACFA National Football Championships and found itself up against some stiff opposition.

The team was drawn from 2 Pl RSB, 4 Pl RSB, A Tp RA and D Tp RA, but were slow off the mark and were defeated in the first match by the overall competition winners from London. The cadets then managed to find their game and, after some tough matches, pushed on to finish third in their group.

2Lt Danny Dillon told Reporting G&L:

‘It was a valiant effort from such a new and diverse team which had very little training time and, as always, the cadets involved were a credit to the Battalion’.

  1. Well done, getting to the nationals is an achievement and I am sure with some practice we will do even better next time. Deputy Commandant
