On 28 March over 50 members of B Company were hosted by 2nd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland (Royal Highland Fusiliers) at Glencorse Barracks, Penicuik.
The cadets, from D, E and F RHF got the chance to spent time with their affiliated regiment getting involved in a variety of activities, including basha building and cooking in the field, command tasks, duties of a sentry and observation skills. In addition, the cadets got the chance to go ‘hands on’ with a variety of infantry weapons, from the latest version of the SA80 rifle all the way up to the 81mm mortar and the Javelin anti-tank missile.
The event, designed to give cadets an insight into life in the Regular Army, was a great success despite the adverse weather. The cold and the rain however were soon forgotten after a trip to Krispy Kreme on the way home, which no trip to Edinburgh is complete without!
