Engaging with Duncanrig High School

1 Troop Scots Dragoon Guards (East Kilbride) Detachment ran a very successful community engagement event at Duncanrig High School in East Kilbride in early April, to raise the profile of the ACF and the Battalion. x2V22Lt Raymond Bell and other adults from the Battalion, along with cadets who are also pupils at the school set up a number of stands for pupils in first year to show them some of the challenging but fun activities that the Army Cadet Force has to offer.

The inflatable assault course, the climbing wall, command tasks and an orienteering course all allowed pupils to learn more about the ACF and the school to see our cadets in close up, looking superb in their uniforms and ably helping to  run the event.

The Commandant visited the second of two days of activity at the school, where almost 300 pupils took part and was not the only one who was impressed – the school deputy head teacher Les Obre commented on how much fun both the pupils and the teachers at the school were having at the event.
