The Bn Association presents a cheque for £300

It’s been a year since the inauguration of the Glasgow and Lanarkshire Army Cadets’ Association and last night the Chairman Major Craig Bryce presented a significant first cheque of £300 to the Commandant.

The presentation was made during a ‘reunion evening’ that saw a number of past members of the Battalion meeting to chat about ‘old times’.

Earlier in the evening the membership discussed how best to develop the Association including:

  • Setting up an Association Facebook site and developing the existing web site to help improve communication between members and other interested parties.
  • Encouraging the recruiting of ex-adults and cadets of the Bn to the Association by having a ‘come and see how the Battalion is now’ day at Dechmont CTC during a training weekend. It’s likely to comprise a look at cadet activity in the morning, followed by lunch and an afternoon meeting to discuss Association development and elect committee members.

The Association was set up to raise awareness of the Battalion and the Army Cadet Force, to support its aims and to raise funds to help with activity that is not funded by the MOD.
