Colonel Stephanie Jackman TD, Assistant Commander 51 Infantry Brigade and Headquarters Scotland, has agreed to be the Guest of Honour at the Battalion Arena Display in August.
Col Jackman assumed her appointment in April this year having previously being responsible for the delivery of End to End Reserve Career Management (CM) policy for the new integrated whole force model of Army 2020 as SO1 Reserve Plans in the Army Personnel Centre, Glasgow. Her service in recent years has included operational tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and on returning from operations she spent eight months as Project Leader for Exercise THE PIPERS’ TRAIL, the largest Community Engagement exercise undertaken in Scotland and in August 2008 she was appointed Commanding Officer of Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities’ Officer Training Corps.
Her husband Mark is an Electrical Engineer by profession and the couple live near Biggar. They have no children but five dogs, to whom they are devoted and which ensures a very active outdoor life style. Col Jackman’s other interests include running, all country pursuits, ski-ing (all disciplines), cycling and sailing in which she has competed in many races including three RORC seasons 1997-99, the Fastnet in 1999 and Cowes week on a number of occasions.
